A photo of ‘six friends’ taking a selfie together in the woods has left people in search for some toilet paper after spotting a seventh face.
Eagle-eyed viewers have spotted the unsettling reality of the image which has been shared on Reddit’s r/whenyouseeit thread.
At first glance, the picture in question features six people who are supposedly a ‘group of friends in Chile’.

Nice picture, right? (Reddit)
While on a hike, they take a smiley selfie together and the initial thought is ‘Ah isn’t that nice?’
They are surrounded by a beautiful-ish, green landscape, with a group of people trailing behind them.
But on further inspection, there are actually seven people in the selfie – and you’ve got to be a serious sniper to spot them.
I’ll give you a moment, and I apologise in advance.
However, if you can’t see anything, here’s a clue: take a look at the bottom left of the photo.

Yeah, we’re sorry (Reddit)
There happens to be another person in between the two women on the left.
Apologies if you just s**t yourself, but I did sort of warn you about the toilet paper.
After noticing the extra person, social media users were utterly horrified, as one person commented: “I am not exaggerating when I say that when I finally saw it, I got goosebumps and felt genuine fear. Wtf. I believe in ghosts again now.”
Another penned: “My dumba** was looking at the red thing in the bottom left corner. I was like uhhh looks like someone was just cut out the pic… then BOOM, I saw it. Runs to hide under the covers.”
Rather, a third person thought: “It’s just a person that’s also in the group with their face being hidden in shadow by the two around it, and made to look creepy with that intense blue filter.
“You can even see the top of the person’s head and hair illuminated normally by the daylight.”
While someone else admitted: “It gave me chills, for sure. Usually I just laugh these things off, or assume the photo is doctored in a way I can’t really detect, but not this time.
“And once you see it, you can’t try to make it be something else, like the way the guy’s jacket is bunched up, or a combination of that and part of the hair from one of the girls.
“Nothing else fits. It’s very clearly something/someone that doesn’t belong there.”

The internet has found another mad optical illusion to obsess over – and this one involves an invisible person drinking from a tiny whisky bottle.
From the mad snap of the sitting women that always has us baffled, a ‘second horse’ only people with a high IQ can spot, and a photo where people are arguing over which building is closer – optical illusions can always drive us up the wall.
And this one of four pals has left people mind blown.
While the photo features four people drinking whisky, most people can only spot three of them.

Can you see them? (Reddit)
Well, at very first glance, you can only directly see one person.
The main feature of the image, a bloke is wearing a kilt, hat and raincoat, appearing to be on some kind of hike.
But he’s clinking a miniature whisky bottle in the middle as two other friends can be seen with their arms outstretched from outside the frame.
However, in a mind-boggling way, while you can instantly see three people’s arms and hands, there are four drinks in the centre.
And, as the photo gains traction on social media again after being posted to Reddit, it’s taking people a minute to realise where the fourth friend is.

Sorry, what fourth friend? (Getty Stock Image)
“I thought the backpack was actually a person in the background at first lol,” one user wrote.
As another admitted: “Lol. For a second I had thought it was a failed AI generated image.”
But, and here’s a hint, people have pointed out just why it works so well: “Not so much an optical illusion, and more simple effective camouflage.”
Yep, if you follow that fourth whisky bottle, a navy-gloved hand can be seen having slightly blended into the bloke’s kilt.

That’s some serious camo (Reddit)
And if you go from there, you’ll release there’s a camouflage sleeved arm doing the whisky clink, impressively blending in with the background. Plus, if you look in the bottom left corner, you’ll see the kilt of the camo-wearer.
“Camo really works,” one joked as a user responded: “Had I not read this comment, I’d still be looking at the picture.”
Some still needed a little help as they said: “I guess I’d be the worst person at undercover combat. Where is the camo!??!?”
Another wrote: “The one time camo actually works I had to zoom in to see it what even.”
While of course, one user made the standard joke that the fourth person is ‘John Cena’.

From viral videos to social media debates, there are a few sturdy things we can always trust will do the rounds on the internet.
Of course, one of those has to be optical illusions. There are the mad patterns that make you think you’re on something to the simple-looking photos that spark conspiracy theories.
And while some might prove you have the ‘eyes of a sniper’, this bizarre snap has just left people scratching their heads.
At first glance, the snap of the women sitting and smiling on a sofa is a pretty innocent one. You know, the kind of thing you’d see reposted onto six different Instagram Stories when those girls you went to school with ‘reunite’ every two weeks.

Where are those missing legs? (Reddit)
But, when you take a closer look, there’s something really odd about the photo.
Yep, there are six of them sat posing for the camera but it looks like there are only five pairs of legs.
A quick glance will make you think the third woman sitting on the sofa is only a torso with no legs, but plenty of people on Reddit have disagreed over what they’re looking at which would explain it.
One person asserted: “The first girl is sitting over the second girl’s legs.”
A second agreed, adding: “The second girl’s legs are behind the first girl’s legs.”

OK, I’m confused (Reddit)
While a third went into full detective level theory to explain to other baffled users: “Number one has her legs crossed, no tear in the knee. Number two has only one leg visible, the tear is in her knee.
“Those legs are blending together. (Follow that tear down, there’s a split where there’s a sock on the right and not on the left. Number two has a tear in her knee and a visible white sock.”
Someone else offered up another method, focusing on the woman sitting second from the left as they wrote: “Her pants are the same colour, and almost blend. You can see the difference where there is a bit of sock/skin showing above the boot.”
Another noted: “It’s really hard to tell them apart but you can see the difference.”
And sure, there’s still plenty of people convinced the total number of legs in the viral ‘doesn’t add up’, but hey, where would the fun of optical illusions be without some confusion?
