A leaked memo reveals that the Trump administration has ordered the Office of Management and Budget to tell all federal agencies to suspend payments — with the exception of Social Security and Medicare.
He cannot do this. Congress has already allocated the funding and it MUST be dispensed. This wildly illegal order should spark a major constitutional crisis the likes of which we’ve never seen before, and he must be impeached immediately. It calls into question the very nature of the relationship between the executive and the legislative branches; if the presidency is allowed to freely overrule the will of Congress, we will be living in a dictatorship.

The lives of millions upon millions of Americans will be upended in an instant; millions won’t be able to buy food if their SNAP payments are frozen and countless more people will be forced to drop out of college.
“Congress approved these investments and they are not optional; they are the law,” said Senator Chuck Schumer in a statement. Whether anyone will have the guts to do anything about it is another question. We must demand the House and Senate immediately bring impeachment articles against Trump for this outrageous assault on the very fabric of our government.

“The movement to impeach the president has begun,” said Representative Al Green on the House floor. “I rise to announce that I will bring articles of impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done.”
“Injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States of America,” he stated.
“I know that it’s time for us to lay the foundation [for impeachment] again. On some issues, it is better to stand alone than not stand at all,” said Green. “On this issue, I stand alone, but I stand for justice.”
“The people have to demand it, and when the people demand it, it will be done,” he added.
Of course, the impeachment is unlikely to succeed so long as MAGA Republicans control the House and Senate but this is a crucial step nonetheless. We cannot allow Trump’s fascism to go unchallenged.
His announcement that the United States is going to “take over” Gaza and “own” it is blatantly illegal and in direct opposition to America’s best interests.
“Ethnic cleansing is not a joke, especially when it emanates from the president of the United States, the most powerful person in the world, when he has the ability to perfect what he says, ethnic cleansing in Gaza is no joke, and the prime minister of Israel should be ashamed knowing the history of his people,” said Green.
The idea is even proving unpopular with his MAGA base, who see the imperialist scheme as a betrayal of their “America First” mantra. Trump’s presidency is already teetering.
