Mastitis & tongue tie release update: I’m finally feeling SO MUCH BETTER!🙏❤️I may not look good (the babies were up ALL NIGHT on and off😴), but I FEEL good!🤪🤣 My lactation consultant told me I have raynauds & mammary constriction – which makes sense bc sometimes I’m still in a bit of pain (nothing compared to what it was)! I think I may have permanent nipple damage on my left side bc it’s just always a bit tender.🤦🏼♀️
I definitely had a fungal infection that just wouldn’t leave! Huxley was the only baby I fed from my left side bc Hawkins ties made it hurt so bad on that side. Hawkins hasn’t had a diaper rash but Huxley has had one that also won’t leave.I believe I gave him the fungal infection.😩 Oddly, the culture didn’t pick up on it though?!🤷🏼♀️ I know the silverette cups are all the rage right now, but be careful using them. I used them consistently bc my nips were in so much pain.
My milk would leak out & sit on my nipple without me realizing it. Fungus thrives in dark, moist, warm areas so I genuinely think that is what contributed to my infection.
I really believe in the power of mothers sharing our stories and journeys in order to help each other out! Motherhood is hard and we shouldn’t have to go through it alone!🙏💕 Curious if anyone else had a similar experience with the silverettes? I honestly loved that they shielded my cracked nips from pain, but I genuinely believe you gotta check and make sure your milk isn’t leaking and just sitting there consistently bc it can breed infection.
