Tsunami Warning As 7.6-magnitude Earthquake Strikes In Major Travel Destination

A powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean north of Honduras on Saturday, according to the German Research Center for Geosciences.

 

The US Geological Survey reported the quake occurred at 6:23 p.m. EST.

Following the tremor, the US Tsunami Warning System issued advisories for the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

 

Authorities continue to monitor the situation for potential aftershocks and tsunami risks.
